Lake Country Inside and Out

IMG_0485Georgia’s Lake Country…. A wonderful place to live or vacation!  Lakes Oconee and Sinclair are located in middle Georgia; close enough to Atlanta for easy access it’s attractions and the airport; far enough away to enjoy the great outdoors, a myriad of activities, or just relax and enjoy nature.

Lake Oconee with its 19,050 acres is surrounded by an area rich in Georgia history and architecture.  A beautiful Ritz Carlton is located on its shore along with premier resorts such as Reynolds Plantation, Harbor Club, and Cuscowilla which provide world class golfing and tennis.  Even if you don’t own property on the lake, Georgia Power and private marinas provide access.

Oconee’s sister lake, Lake Sinclair hosts national and local fishing tournaments and has 15,330 acres with 417 miles of shoreline.  Nearby Milledgeville is home to Georgia College and State University and was previously the capital of Georgia.

The area is no stranger to the arts.  Eatonton’s Plaza Arts Center is located in a renovated school house built in 1916 and offers a beautiful 500 seat theater where concerts and plays are featured; a reception hall where art and photography shows are exhibited, a catering kitchen making parties and banquets a snap; a history museum; and an art classroom where various classes are offered throughout the year.
